2016 Presidential Election Map (County)

(This literally took me only 2 hours to make from this base map , I like to give thanks to Chicxulub for making the biggest US County map possible.)

 And this year for me along with many Americans finally see the results of the most historic and controversial US presidential elections to date. Many assumed that Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton would win the election in a landslide against Trump, but surprisingly we were proven wrong since Republican nominee Donald Trump was able to gain the important states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida, and managed to gain full control of the Midwest and South.

However interestingly enough Trump will also go down in history for being a winning presidential candidate to lose his home-state, which is New York. (Though Hillary Clinton won her home-state (since she was born in upstate New York) only to still lose as I previously stated above.) Making Trump the 8th president in US history to lose his home-state and still win. The first president to win presidency, but lost his home state was James Polk in 1844, in which he lost his home state of North Carolina but still won the presidency.

Interestingly enough it seems my own county of Burlington County, NJ had a majority of people voting for Clinton (to be honest I was one of them...).

Also I was kind of hoping that Evan McMullin (the Independent candidate) would gain at least one or two counties in Utah, since it been decades since a third party candidate ever managed to win counties by votes, which was by Ross Perot in the 1992 Presidential Election.
